Welcome to our Prescription Drug Library, powered by MediResourceTM. This is your source for easy-to-use information on Canadian prescription drugs.
Each Medication Library factsheet contains information about:
- how the medication works
- the correct way to take it
- when you shouldn't take it
- possible side effects
- important precautions and warnings
- possible drug interactions
To explore the library, type the medication name in the box below and click SEARCH. Or click on a letter below to see a list of medications that begin with that letter. You can also type the Drug Identification Number into the search box.
Uncertain about brand names and common or generic names?
All medications have both a common (generic) name and a brand name. The common or generic name is the standard name of the medicine (acetaminophen), while the brand name is the name under which a specific manufacturer markets a product (Tylenol®). A medicine's label will state the brand name, common or generic name, or both. You can search our Prescription Medication Library using either name.
